This Tuesday, November 28th, Sunrise Airways will inaugurate the new route to the Dutch Island Curacao. The flight will connect Port Au Prince to Curacao, and this is the first time a Haitian airline has been approved to serve the Curacao’s Free (Economic) Zone. Sergio Valkenburg, who is Sunrise Relations Manager of the Dutch Caribbean said; he is fascinating about this flight, “It is a great opportunity for the two countries to further collaborate with each other” he concludes
The one hour and fifteen minutes flight will leave Port Au Prince at nine in the morning to Curacao International Airport. The Company has developed a strong partnership with the Government of Curacao represented by the Ministry of Economic Development, The Curacao Tourist Board, the Curacao Airport Partners, and finally the Curacao Hospitality and Tourism Association. At the inaugural ceremony, the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Steven Marina will give a speech to welcome the airline to Curacao, and the President of the Airline Mr. Philip Bayard will follow to thank all the actors involved of making this dream a reality.
An official delegation will travel to Haiti to attend a private cocktail that will be offered by Sunrise, and they also plan to experience Haiti during their stay. Sunrise new route is excellent news for Haiti and Curacao, as both countries are expending themselves as business and tourism destinations.
